LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky men’s and women’s cross country teams will return to competition on Monday, Nov. 4, when the Wildcats travel to Gainesville, Fla., for the 2002 Southeastern Conference Championship.
The races, which feature all 12 SEC teams, will be run on the Florida Golf Course. The women’s 6k race will begin at 9 a.m., while the men’s 8k race follows at 10 a.m. On the men’s side, Arkansas will fight for its unprecedented 12th consecutive SEC crown and 29th straight conference title. The Lady Razorbacks will be looking for their fifth consecutive conference win.
The Kentucky women are looking to build on a solid 2002 campaign at the event after taking top-five finishes all of their meets this season, including a second-place finish at the Gator Invitational.
The all-conference teams, consisting of the top-15 runners in each race, will be determined tomorrow as well.
