The University of Kentucky women’s golf team finished action in the Franklin Street Trust Tar Heel Invitational on Sunday, Oct. 6, in Chapel Hill, N.C. in 13th-place. The Lady Kats shot a third round score of 305 and finished with a total team score of 914. Duke University grabbed its sixth consecutive title of the tournament with a team score of 877.
Senior Kelly Anders grabbed her second top-five finish of the season in fourth place after a third round score of one-under-par 71. Anders’ total score of 219 was only nine strokes behind champion Liz Janangelo of Duke with a six-under-par 210. Other third round Kentucky scores include Rachel Lester with a 74, Stacy Springer with a 79, Lauren George with an 81, and Eva Gessner with an 83.
Kentucky will take a short break from action before returning to the course Oct. 18-20 in the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate hosted by the University of Tennessee.
