– The University of Kentucky women’s golf team stands in seventh place after two rounds of the 2002 Chrysler ACC/SEC Challenge on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, in Sandestin, Fla. With a 608,the Lady Kats trail behind leading Duke University with a two-day total of 590.
Kentucky shot a second round total of 300 to improve their standing from ninth place after a first round total of 308 on Friday, Sept. 27. Senior Kelly Anders leads the way for the Lady Kats with a two-day, three-over-par 145, landing her in a seventh-place tie with Kristin Tamulis of hosting Florida State. Fellow senior Rachel Lester follows Anders in 24th-place after a two-over-par 73 in the second round.
Other Lady Kat scores after 36 holes of competition include Eva Gessner, 153, Stacy Springer, 162, and Lauren George, 164.
The final round of the tournament will take place on Sunday, Sept. 29, at the Raven Course, Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start.
