After finishing the 2001-02 tennis season ranked No. 56 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, senior Sarah Witten enters 2002-03 ranked in the Top 40.

The ITA released its pre-season rankings yesterday and Witten shows up at No. 39. Her highest ranking last year was 41.

Witten also shows up in the doubles rankings at No. 22 with her new partner, freshman Nathalie Roels. Witten and former partner Carolina Mayorga, who graduated, finished last season ranked No. 7. Also in the doubles rankings at No. 41 is the tandem of Jill Buckley and Amy Trefethen, both seniors.
