Begley Named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week: It didn’t take long for redshirt freshman kicker Taylor Begley to make an impact. In recognition in his performance in his first game as a Wildcat, Begley has been named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week by the league office.

On Sunday against Louisville, Begley banged home three field goals in Kentucky’s 22-17 upset of the No. 18-ranked Cardinals. Begley made field goals of 41, 32, and 31 yards and his three field goals set a Governor’s Cup record. His 32-yard kick with 1:02 remaining in the third quarter proved to be the game-winner, putting Kentucky ahead 19-17 at the time. His 31-yarder in the fourth quarter gave the Wildcats additional cushion.

The honor marked UK’s first SEC Player of the Week award since Nov. 1999, when Patrick Wiggins won for his sterling defensive performance in the bowl-clinching win at Vanderbilt.

Tickets a Hot Commodity: Sunday’s win over Louisville has sparked a steady stream of customers to the UK Ticket Office. On Monday and Tuesday, an additional 166 season tickets and 1,349 single-game tickets were purchased.

Single-game seats ($22 each) and the seven-game season ticket ($154 each) continue on sale at the Ticket Office in Memorial Coliseum. The office will be open from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. each night this week. Tickets also may be ordered over the telephone at 859-257-1818 or 800-928-CATS.
