Two-a-Days Continue: The Kentucky football team held its second day of team practice with a pair of two-hour workouts Tuesday at the Nutter Training Facility. The team will be dressed in helmets, shoulder pads and shorts until Thursday, when full pads can be used.
Senior cornerback Derrick Tatum had leg cramps on Monday and was held out of the Tuesday morning practice. Tatum returned to practice Tuesday afternoon.
Six Wildcats on the All-America Watch List: Wide receiver Derek Abney, offensive tackle Antonio Hall, tight end Chase Harp, quarterback Jared Lorenzen, punter Glenn Pakulak and tackle Dewayne Robertson are on the preseason All-America Watch List issued by the Football Writers Association of America.
Winning Isn’t Everything, It’s the Only Thing Dept.: Two Wildcats, tight end Chase Harp and defensive tackle Dewayne Robertson, have been named to the preseason watch list for the Lombardi Award. The Lombardi Award is presented to the nation’s top lineman or linebacker and is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Houston.
Dear Diary: Senior linebacker Ronnie Riley and freshman offensive lineman Hayden Lane are publishing training-camp diaries on the football page of the ukathletics.com Web site. The players were chosen in order to give fans the perspective of a fifth-year senior and a first-year player.
