LEXINGTON, Ky. –
Liz McCaslin, a junior on the University of Kentucky volleyball team, has been named to the Southeastern Conference Good Works At-Large team, it was announced by the conference office last week. The at-large team represents 17 SEC sponsored sports as well as men’s soccer and lacrosse. The Good Works Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.
McCaslin, an outside hitter, is a volunteer with many local charities in Lexington. She has participated in the Girl Scout Volleyball Clinic for the past three years, as well as volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House and the Shriner’s Hospital for Children. Also on her extensive list of community service efforts is the Richmond Place Retirement Community, the MS Walk, the Hope Center, the Lexington Country Place Retirement Home, Lexington Health and Rehab Center and the Bellewood Children’s Home.
The Marketing/Integrated Strategic Communications major maintains a 3.66 GPA and was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll in 2001. She is also a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi Business Honor Society.
Joining McCaslin on the list was UK’s Ilkka Jantti, a senior defender from the men’s soccer team.
