Also performing well for UK at the meet was junior Simidele Adeagbo, who took home fourth place in the women’s triple jump with a season-best performance of 42-04.75. Sophomore Beth Heimann finished sixth in the women’s 800 meters with a time of 2:06.35, also a personal best.
In men’s action, Chad Johnson finished sixth in the men’s 800 meters, with a time of 1:49.16, to lead five Wildcats in the event.
The meet was the final chance for athletes to qualify for the NCAA Championships in Baton Rouge, La., May 29-June 1. Sophomore Jeff Chakouian has already qualified in the men’s shot put, while several other Wildcats will wait to see how their provisional-qualifying marks stack up this week.
