STARKVILLE, Miss. – The University of Kentucky track and field teams had an outstanding day at the Southeastern Conference Outdoor Championships in Starkville, Miss., on Saturday, May 11. Sophomore Jeff Chakouian won the men’s shot put title with a toss of 63-06.75, while junior Janet Crawford won the women’s high jump with a leap of 5-08.75. The title was Crawford’s second league crown this season after winning the high jump at the SEC Indoor Championships in February.

Also performing well for UK were freshmen Molly Lonergan, who took sixth place in the women’s discus, and Gennessa Guzman, who finished eighth in the event. Sophomore Kristen Mowrey finished 18th in the women’s high jump, while Simidele Adeagbo finished 11th in the long jump. Adeagbo will perform in her strongest event, the triple jump, on Sunday evening.
