RICHMOND, Ky. – The University of Kentucky track and field teams fared well on Friday, April 19 at the Eastern Kentucky Classic in Richmond, Ky. Senior Demetrius Roberts took first place in the women’s 100 meters with a time of 11.96, while sophomore Caitlin Phillips won the 1,500 meters with a mark of 4:39.91.

Sophomore Karen Wartgow was close behind Phillips in the 1,500-meter run, finishing second with a time of 4:44.11. Candace Leep rounded out UK’s top-five finishers on the event in fourth, finishing in 4:50.42. Sophomore Olubusola Adeagbo was third in the women’s 400 meters with a time of 58.17.

Competing well for the men was senior Bryan Wilson, who took home second place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.61. Sophomore Tony Tzouanakis was second in the discus with a toss of 147-11.00.

The Wildcats return to action on Thursday, April 25, when they travel to Philadelphia, Penn., for the Penn Relays.
