Friday night’s opening game of the three-game Southeastern Conference series between No. 15 Ole Miss and Kentucky has been called due to torrential rainfall in the Bluegrass.
The Rebels (18-7, 2-4 SEC) and Wildcats (11-12, 2-4 SEC) will play a doubleheader on Saturday, March 30 with the first game starting at noon ET. Junior right-hander Joseph Blanton (3-2, 1.99 ERA) will take the mound for the Wildcats, while Ole Miss will challenge with junior right-hander J.R. Pickens (4-1, 2.54 ERA). In the second game, UK will go with junior righty Scott Wade (3-4, 6.53 ERA) and the Rebels will give senior right-hander Pete Montrenes (5-2, 4.74 ERA) his eighth start of the season.
