LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky swimming and diving team had a school-record 21 athletes named to the 2002 Southeastern Conference Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Academic Honor Roll SEC Commissioner Roy Kramer announced on Friday, Feb. 22.

Thirteen current student athletes are on the list while seniors Sarah Hoppe, David Kuendig, Tracy Sullivan and Carolyn Rader were named to the team for the third time. Others previously honored were seniors Sarah Carter (2001), Debra Hinsley (2001) and Aaron Kirkpatrick (2001). Two former Wildcats, Jaime Siegele and David Tweedie, earned the honor all four years they were a student at Kentucky.

To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must: 1) have a 3.0 grade point average for either the past year (two semesters) or a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher for their career, 2) be a sophomore or higher in terms of academic classification, and 3) have 24 semester or 36 quarter hours towards a degree. The 2002 SEC Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2000-01 academic calendar.
