Gainesville, Fla. – The University of Kentucky women’s golf team dropped one spot to ninth place on Saturday, Feb. 23 after the second round of the Lady Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla. The Lady Kats have shot a two-round total of 631 thus far in the three-round tournament.
Junior Kelly Anders leads the way for the Kats with her two-day total of 149. Anders, a Springfield, Ill., native, trails by only 10 stokes and currently sits in a tie for sixth place. Senior Towa Okiyama has also put together two impressive rounds for UK. Okiyama fired an opening-round 75 and a 78 on Saturday to place her in a tie for 13th. Other UK scores include Lauren George’s 165, Stacy Springer’s 168 and Kristen Pepe’s 175.
The tournament will conclude on Sunday, Feb. 24 with the third and final round of play. Action will begin at 8 a.m.
