Lexington, Ky. – Kentucky women’s basketball coach Bernadette Mattox has been chosen as one of six recipients on behalf of Procter & Gamble to receive the Tampax Pearl “Woman of Distinction” award for outstanding levels of character, integrity and leadership within the Lexington community. The Procter & Gamble awards will be presented today, Feb. 12 at 6:30 p.m. ET at the Pacific Pearl, a local restaurant.

Mattox, in her seventh season as head women’s basketball coach at Kentucky, is a frequent speaker at various business, community and sport-related functions. She also volunteers her spare time to local organizations such as the American Heart Association, the Children’s Miracle Network and the UK Hospital.

The award ceremony will be in support of the launch of Tampax Pearl, a new tampon that is exclusive to the women of Lexington.
