GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Kentucky men’s golf team stands in 14th place after the first two rounds of the SunTrust Gator Invitational held Saturday, Feb. 9, on the University of Florida Golf Course. UK shot an opening round 301 and a second round 296 for a 597 total.
John-Gordon Beckett leads all Wildcat golfers with a two-round score of 146 (74 round one, 72 round two). Beckett is currently one of six golfers who are tied at 6-over par, 14 strokes behind the leader. Other UK scores included Andy Dustman with a two-round score of 147, John Holmes with a 150, Mark Blakefield with a 154 and Ryan Coyne with a 158.
Graeme McDowell of Alabama-Birmingham sits atop the field alone with a first day score of 132 (-8). UAB leads the team scores with a 556.
The SunTrust Gator Invitational will conclude on Sunday with an 8 a.m. start time.
