– The University of Kentucky rifle team took second place in the Roger Withrow Invitational on Saturday Jan. 26. Kentucky’s blue team finished with a combined score of 6190 just under Murray State’s 6194. The Wildcats also had a white team competing the event who finished seventh with a 5991.

Leading the Blue team with a score of 1564 was sophomore Bradley Wheeldon who finished second in the Invitational with an aggregate score of 1564. Wheeldon also took second place in the air rifle competition with a 394 and finished in a second place tie with Tennessee Tech’s Maxim Shub with 1170 in the smallbore event. Also in the smallbore competition, James Nash finished in fourth with 1167, slightly outscoring Aaron Shader, who finished with a 1166. For the Wildcat’s White team, Robert Krukoski led the way with a combined 1503.

The Rifle Cats return to action on Saturday Feb. 2 as they travel to Terre Haute, Ind., to face Rose Hulman.
