Senior forward Annie Gage continued to add to her impressive collection of honors on Monday by being named honorable mention All-America and first-team All-Great Lakes Region by Soccer Buzz Magazine, a leading publication for collegiate women’s soccer. Junior Keri Boyce earned second-team accolades, while freshman forward Kathy Fulk was voted to the Great Lakes Region All-Freshman team.

Gage, a native of Westerville, Ohio (Westerville South), tied the UK career record for points scored with 107 last season and also set all-time marks in shots taken (208) and assists (33). Leading the Cats in scoring with 11 goals, eight assists and 30 points in 2001, the senior captain was voted first-team All-Southeastern Conference and earned a spot on the SEC All-Tournament team. Gage will complete her career at Kentucky by participating in the Umbro Select All-Star Soccer Classic, an elite all-star game featuring the country’s top women’s senior soccer players, on Feb. 9 in Miami, Fla.

Boyce, a marketing major with a 3.81 GPA, is a two-time SEC Women’s Soccer Academic Honor Roll member and was voted second-team All-SEC in 2001, posting four goals (three game-winners) and six assists for 14 points. The Birdsboro, Pa. native has started in all 62 games played in three seasons for the Wildcats, and currently ranks third in career points (75), shots (183), goals (28) and assists (19).

Fulk experienced one of the most productive freshman seasons in UK soccer history. Playing in 19 games, the Columbus, Ohio (Dublin Scioto) native finished second on the team behind Gage in scoring, collecting six goals (two game-winners) and seven assists for 19 points. Named to the Soccer America Team of the Week for Sept. 3-9, Fulk scored in four of her first five games and tied the UK single-game assists mark of three against Alabama on Oct. 26.

Finishing the 2001 campaign with an overall 12-8-1 mark and a 5-4-0 record against SEC competition, Kentucky earned its fifth berth to the NCAA Tournament, falling to No. 13 Clemson in overtime, 1-0, in first-round action. The Cats also claimed a spot in the SEC Tournament for the ninth consecutive year, tying them with Vanderbilt as the only two SEC schools to qualify for every tournament since the conference sanctioned a championship in 1993.
