The University of Kentucky women’s tennis program signed two talented recruits announced Coach Mark Guilbeau on Wednesday, Nov. 21. Kacie Anson and Shannon Stough will join the squad in the fall of 2002. Anson comes to the Bluegrass from Fayetteville, Ga., while Stough hails from Hot Springs, Ark.
“We are very excited and fortunate to have two solid individuals both on and off the court join our program,” Guilbeau said. “Both Kacie and Shannon will bring tremendous character, enthusiasm and desire to our team.”
Anson and Stough have both been highly-ranked USTA National Junior players for the past several years and will undoubtedly add to an already strong program.
“The recruiting process is always a challenging and demanding one,” Guilbeau said. “Assistant Kathy Herring has played a huge role throughout the process and deserves a lot of credit for her efforts. We are confident that Kacie and Shannon will experience great success during their careers at UK and will greatly enhance our program.”
