The University of Kentucky women’s tennis team put together another strong doubles performance at the Southeastern Conference Fall Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 10. All three of the Wildcat duos entered in the tournament are still alive with one more day of competition left.
Senior Lauren Rookledge and junior Leigh Bradwell continued to pad an already impressive fall record with two big wins. The pair defeated Lori Grey and Anne Nguyen of Georgia in the opening round and advanced to the semifinals after downing Carolina Ramirez and Carolina Maurer of Auburn. Juniors Amy Trefethen and Jill Buckley also advanced through the quarterfinals with two clutch wins over Ole Miss’ Audra Adams and Alesya Ignatieva and South Carolina’s Kathy Boyanovich and Jennifer Radman. Junior Shannon Stafford and freshman Danielle Petrisko are also still alive in the Flight B doubles competition with a win of Catherine Brown and Audrey George of South Carolina.
Play concludes at the SEC Fall Tournament on Sunday, Nov. 11. Action begins at 9 a.m.
