Sophomore outside safety Octavius Bond has been dismissed from the University of Kentucky football team for violation of team rules, Coach Guy Morriss announced Thursday. Morriss has no additional comment.
Bond has played in all seven games during the 2001 season. He has started four games while David Johnson has been out with injuries. Bond had 35 tackles, including three for loss and one quarterback sack. He had two pass breakups and three quarterback hurries.
Bond played in eight games as a reserve cornerback during the 2000 season, making seven tackles and earning his first varsity letter. He redshirted during the 1999 season.
