LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s soccer team (10-6-0/4-4-0 Southeastern Conference) will play host to Auburn (8-5-1/4-3-0 SEC) on Sunday, Oct. 28 at the UK Soccer Complex with a 1 p.m. starting time. A win over the Tigers will ensure a berth for the Wildcats into the SEC Tournament held from Nov. 8-11 in Baton Rouge, La.

“One of our goals this season was to win the SEC Tournament,” Coach Warren Lipka said. “With a win against Auburn, we’ll be one step closer to achieving that goal.”

UK exploded for seven goals and broke the single-season assists mark of nine en route to a 7-1 romp over visiting Alabama on Friday night. The former assists mark of eight was set in a 9-0 victory over Bellarmine on Oct. 29, 1992. Senior Annie Gage recorded a hat trick and freshman Kathy Fulk came off the bench for three assists and the game-winning goal to give UK its seventh 10-win season in its 10-year history. Senior Kate Qually also garnered a goal and an assist.

The Wildcats will complete their regular season slate next Friday as they play host to Indiana on Senior Night at the UK Soccer Complex. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
