After claiming three doubles titles on Saturday, the University of Kentucky women’s tennis team concluded singles competition at the June Stewart Invitational in Nashville, Tenn., on Sunday, Oct. 21. The Wildcats were able to walk away with three runner-up honors and three third-place finishes in the eight-flight tournament.

Juniors Amy Trefethen and Sarah Witten and freshman Danielle Petrisko all fell in the finals of their flights on Sunday to claim runner-up awards for UK. Senior Carolina Mayorga, along with juniors Jill Buckley and Shannon Stafford were all victorious in their consolation matches to tally third-place finishes in their respective flights.

The Cats will take little time off before heading to Winston-Salem, N.C., to compete in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Southeast Regional. Competition is slated for Oct. 25-28 on the campus of Wake Forest University.
