The University of Kentucky women’s tennis team continued its impressive performance at the Gator Fall Classic in Gainesville, Fla., on Saturday, Oct. 13. An all-Wildcat semifinal placed senior Lauren Rookledge in the tournament’s final singles match, while Rookledge and partner Leigh Bradwell claimed a spot in the doubles final.

Rookledge was able to defeat fellow Wildcat Amy Trefethen in the first semifinal of the tournament, 6-3, 6-2. Trefethen had reached the semifinal round after ousting the tournament’s top seed, Julia Scaringe of Florida, in the opening round. Rookledge will now face Mari Toro of Miami in Sunday’s final.

Rookledge will also be a part of the doubles final, after she and partner Leigh Bradwell knocked off Toro and Marcy Hora of Miami. The duo will battle Julie Pecastaing and Anna Westin of Central Florida in the finals.

Both finals will take place on Sunday, Oct. 14, at the Ring Tennis Complex on the University of Florida campus.
