Full Diving Results – Day 1

The University of Kentucky diving team opened the 2001-02 season on Thursday, October 11 at the Southeastern Conference East Challenge held at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center at the University of Florida. Junior Clayton Moss, the 2001 SEC Champion on the one-meter springboard, finished fifth on the one-meter to lead the UK men while freshman Trisha Tumlinson’s sixth-place finished on the three-meter paced the UK women.

Moss, a 2001 an All-America on the one-meter, finished with a score of 276.25, while teammate senior Aaron Kirkpatrick placed seventh with a score of 259.25. Freshman John Collier rounded out the men’s scoring with a 219.70.

Tumlinson, a Junior Olympics West Nationals Champion on the three-meter, paced the Wildcat women with a score of 229.30. Junior Kelli Frost scored a 214.95 to place 10th while freshman Alison Riccobono closed out the UK scoring with a 193.80.

The men’s team collected 31 total points while the women totaled 23. The scores will be added to the team totals for the dual meets against South Carolina on Saturday, October 13 at 9 a.m. and again on Sunday against Florida at 10 a.m.

Freshman Phillip Jones of Tennessee won the men’s event with a score of 304.70 while Florida’s junior Sarah Close won the women’s event with a 286.40.

Diving continues Friday morning at 11 a.m. with the women’s one-meter and the men’s three-meter diving.
