Johnson Second in the SEC in Sacks: The Southeastern Conference has released its weekly defensive stats report and junior defensive end Dennis Johnson ranks second in the league in quarterback sacks with three. Johnson could easily have four sacks, but he lost one when Ball State quarterback Talmadge Hill was called for an intentional grounding penalty while being sacked.
Florida’s Alex Brown is the league leader with 3.5 sacks.
Fan Parking Advisory for South Carolina Game: As usual when Kentucky visits South Carolina, the state fair is in progress next to Williams-Brice Stadium and shares parking lots. The stadium/fairground parking lots open at 8 a.m. Fans should plan to arrive early to avoid traffic and secure a parking space.
Fan Security Advisory at Williams-Brice Stadium: In order to provide the safest environment possible for fans attending this Saturday’s Kentucky at South Carolina football game (kickoff is 1 p.m.), here is a checklist of security measures the USC athletics department plans to implement. USC has worked with various law enforcement agencies, including SLED, the State Highway Patrol, the city of Columbia, Richland and Lexington Counties, and USC Campus Police.
* Fans are asked to enter the stadium 15-30 minutes earlier than normal.
* There will be an increase in the number of law enforcement personnel in and around the stadium.
* Fans will not be allowed to bring in coolers, backpacks or shoulder bags.
Pay-Per-View Available for South Carolina Game: The Kentucky at South Carolina football game on Oct. 6 will be televised in both states on a pay-per-view basis.
?Cable systems in Kentucky are scheduled to carry the telecast from the VideoSeat pay-per-view service. Fans should contact their local cable system to receive price information and order the game. Not all cable systems in Kentucky will have the event available.
?Home satellite dish owners (large C-band dishes) located outside the service areas of the participating cable systems may order the game by calling 800-887-8277.
?The game will be made available to Dish Network satellite owners (channel 455). Dish Network subscribers should follow ordering instructions on the TV screen prior to kickoff on game day. No phone orders will be taken for Dish Network subscribers.
?Dish Network is the only small-dish service that has the telecast available.
