Morriss Encouraged by Week of Practice: Coach Guy Morriss is very pleased by his team’s showing in practice this week.
“Overall, it’s the best three days of practice we’ve had,” Morriss said after Thursday’s workout at the Nutter Training Center. “The team’s mood has been good, very upbeat and positive. I’ve been pleased with the effort, attitude, and work habits they’ve shown.”A good motivating factor for us is the game we played there last year. They (Ole Miss) got after us pretty good. They overwhelmed us.”
Asked about keys to Wildcats success on Saturday, Morriss said, “We have to stop their running game and try to slow down Eli (Ole Miss quarterback Eli Manning). On offense, we have to stay away from turnovers, run the ball a little bit, and get our passing game on track.”
Kicker Seth Hanson, who missed last Saturday’s game because of a strained hip muscle, returned to the practice field on Thursday.”Seth was a little erratic,” Morriss noted. “He said he had some pain, but thought he would be able to kick on Saturday. We’ll have to see how he does the next couple of days.”
