UK football fans of all ages swarmed into Commonwealth Stadium Sunday afternoon to grab free posters and snap photos of their favorite Wildcats. Players and coaches autographed everything from footballs and t-shirts to media guides.

Nikki and Garrett Wolfe drove three hours from Scottsville, Ky., to bring six year-old Austin to his second Fans’ Day celebration. Austin’s favorite player is sophomore quarterback Jared Lorenzen. Without hesitation or any prodding from his parents, Austin predicted a six-win season for the 2001 Wildcats.

“It’s great to see all these fans out supporting the team,” defensive coordinator John Goodner said. “Without the fans there would not be a team. This is one of those days the players and coaches look forward to.”
