Kelly Anders, a member of the University of Kentucky women’s golf team, has qualified to play in the U.S. Women’s Amateur, a United States Golf Association Championship. Anders was among 56 golfers competing for eight spots at the Cincinnati Country Club on Monday, July 9. She shot a one-over-par 76 on the course.

Anders finished her sophomore season ranked third at UK with a stroke average of 78.74 in nine tournaments. She had two top-20 finishes for the year including a season-best 15th place finish at the Pines Needles Invitational in Pinehurst, N.C. The 101st U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship will be held on July 30-Aug. 4 at the Flint Hills National Golf Club in Andover, Kan.
