Kim Jedlo, an All-State soccer player from Mokena, Ill., has been accepted for admission to the University of Kentucky and will transfer from Cincinnati, UK coach Warren Lipka announced today. She will have three years of eligibility remaining and can play for the Wildcats beginning in the fall.

At Cincinnati, the forward/midfielder led the Bearcats in goals (10) and points (22). In addition, she tied for most game-winning goals with three on the season. She started 14 games and played in 17. She also was named to the SoccerBuzz Great Lakes Region All-Freshman team.”We are excited to have Kim join the team,” Lipka said. “She has great experience that will aid us in our goal of winning the SEC and going to the NCAA tournament. She is a very athletic and explosive player capable of scoring goals, and she has the versatility to play anywhere on the field.”

At Lincolnway High School, Jedlo was League Player of the Year and a three-year All-State pick. She also led her high school team to a second-place finish in the state tournament and her club team, the Windy City Pride, to the Region II Championship, as well as two state club championship titles.

She joins seven other newcomers to the 2001 Wildcat squad.
