EUGENE, Ore. — The University of Kentucky’s Jeff Chakouian claimed fourth place in the shot put to earn his second All-America honor at the NCAA Outdoor Championships on Saturday, June 2, at Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon.

Chakouian, a native of Seekonk, Mass., threw the shot put 64-03.25 to finish just behind Southeastern Conference-rival Reese Hoffa of Georgia. Chakouian adds this performance to his third-place shot put finish at the NCAA Indoor Championships where he earned the first All-America honor of his career. In addition, the freshman phenom won the SEC Indoor shot put title and finished second at the SEC outdoors behind Hoffa.

The top four competitors coming into the meet maintained their rankings in the finals with Janus Robberts of SMU winning the title with a heave of 72-01.00 and Idaho’s Joachim Olsen finishing second with a throw of 67-00.50.
