The University of Kentucky baseball team will play host to WesternKentucky in a mid-week, non-conference match-up on Wednesday, April 18, at4 p.m., at Cliff Hagan Stadium.Revenge will be on the minds of the Wildcat players when WKU visitsLexington. The Hilltoppers handed UK a 9-2 loss on March 27 in Bowling Green.

UK enters Wednesday’s contest with an overall record of 17-22. TheWildcats picked up a Southeastern Conference series win last weekend,taking two of three games from Vanderbilt.Gordon Tyler leads the UK offensive with a .338 batting average. Fiveother Cats post batting averages over .300 or better.

Pitching hascontinued to be the backbone of the UK squad. The Wildcat hurlers carry anoverall ERA of 4.62, led by Scott Wade’s 2.87 mark.

WKU has an overall record of 25-15. The Hilltoppers posted 12 hits and a.353 batting average in the earlier match-up with UK. Brian Houdek leadsWKU with a .382 batting average.

Both UK’s game with Louisville and WKU’s game with Vanderbilt werecancelled yesterday due to inclement weather.

The Wildcats lead the all-time series with the Hilltoppers24-15-1.
