KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – In her first heptathlon of theoutdoor season, Temitayo Adeagbo established a newUniversity of Kentucky record with her 4928-pointsecond-place effort at the Sea Ray Relays on Thursday,April 12.

Adeagbo, a Louisville native, won three of the sevenevents and placed second in another en route totopping the previous school record of 4582 points,which she set at the 2000 Southeastern ConferenceOutdoor Championships. She got off to a good startwith her three first-place finishes coming in thefirst four events on day one on Wednesday to lead thefield going into Thursday’s final three events. Sheclaimed the titles in the 100-meter hurdles, the shotput and the 200 meters with personal-bestperformances.

Freshman Kristin Mowrey also finished strong for theCats with 4563 points and a sixth-place finish.Mowrey’s total was just 19 points under the previousschool record.

The remainder of the team begins competition onFriday, April 13, with the field events getting underway at 9:00 a.m. All action takes place at Tom BlackTrack on the campus of the University of Tennessee.
