TEMPE, Ariz. – Facing three top-15 teams, the University of Kentucky gymnastics team will close out the regular season when they take on No. 7 Nebraska, No. 8 Arizona State and No. 12 Iowa at a quad meet hosted by ASU on Friday, March 16. Action is slated to begin at 9:30 p.m. EST at Wells Fargo Arena in Tempe, Ariz.

The GymKats (6-8, 0-5 Southeastern Conference) close out the season on a roll, coming off a three-win performance in their home finale last week. UK’s score of 195.825 tied as the second-best total this season and in school history, as the squad defeated Bowling Green (194.450), Central Michigan (195.275), and Pittsburgh (190.550). The GymKats won each individual title to improve to No. 28 in the nation and No. 6 in the region with a team regional qualifying score (RQS) of 194.725.

The No. 8 Sun Devils (8-4) close out the regular season with their senior night and are coming off a strong victory last week over Auburn, 196.150-194.250, scoring the ninth-best score in school history and extending its home winning streak to 25 meets (39 opponents). The Sun Devils national ranking comes from its 196.490 RQS, and they have tallied a high of 197.450 this season.

Nebraska is the highest-ranked team at this meet at No. 7 in the country and brings in an 11-1 overall record and a 3-0 record in the Big 12. The Cornhuskers met Florida last week, defeating the Gators 197.325-196.625, and they scored a 197.000 or better for the third straight time and fourth time in the last five meets. UN has a team RQS of 196.585, with its season-high score coming against UF.

With a 195.830 RQS, the Hawkeyes are ranked 12th in the nation and have an 11-3 overall record. Iowa is coming off a record-setting performance against the University of Illinois in which it scored a 196.675 to set a new team scoring record.
