The University of Kentucky’s women’s swimming and diving team opened up competition in the NCAA Championship meet today. Melissa Olson swam in the 200 individual medley, while Jaime Siegele competed in the 50 freestyle in the first day of swimming at the Nassau County Aquatics Center in Long Island, NY.
Siegele qualified in the consolation heat at No. 15 as the top 16 in each event come back to swim in the evening. In the evening session, Siegele moved up four places to finish 11th in the event. Olson placed 28th in the 200 individual medley in the morning session.
Olson will compete in the 400 individual medley tomorrow while Siegele will not compete again until Saturday.
