The University of Kentucky mens golf team finished in 13th-place at theMatlock Invitational in Lakeland, Fla. on Tuesday, March 6, after endingthe tournament with a three-round total of 964.
Senior Wes Furnish led the Cats with his 24th-place finish. Furnish cardeda 19-over par 235 for the two-day tournament. Medalist Steve Sokol ofhost Florida Southern took first-place honors with his 3-over par 219. Florida Southern, who was playing on its home course, captured the teamchampionship by shooting a team-low 903.
The Wildcats will be back in action when they host the Johnny OwensInvitational in Lexington, Ky. on March 30-31.
