The University of Kentucky women’s basketball team (6-20, 2-12Southeastern Conference) will face No. 14 LSU (18-9, 8-6 SEC) in thefirst round of the SEC Tournament on Thursday, March 1 in Memphis,Tenn. Game-time is slated for 7 p.m. ET at the Pyramid.

LSU, who defeated the Wildcats in regular season action in BatonRouge, La., (87-64) received the No. 5 seed while Kentucky received theNo. 12 slot.

The Cats are 7-14 all-time versus the Lady Tigers, 2-3 in the SECTournament. The Cats advanced to the semifinals of the tourney in 1999after upsetting No. 17 LSU in the quarterfinals.

The winner will meet No. 4 seed and 17th-ranked Vanderbilt onFriday, March 2 in the second round at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 2.
