The University of Kentucky women’s golf team shot a combined score of 932 to finish in 13thplace at the Lady Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla., on Sunday, Feb. 25.
Auburn shot a tournament-low 286 in Sunday’s final round to remain on top of the teamstandings. Georgia’s Summer Sirmons grabbed individual honors following a playoff withTennessee’s Young-A Yang and Auburn’s Celeste Troche. All three competitors had a final tally of213.
Kentucky sophomore Rachel Lester had a low round of 74 to finish the tournament in 28thplace with a 10-over-par 226, while fellow sophomore Kelly Anders found herself in 38th place witha three-round score of 230. Junior Towa Okiyama finished tied for 71st with a 239, and seniorJenny Throgmorton ended up in 73rd with a total of 240. Junior Kristen Pepe rounded out the UKlineup in 84th place with a score of 249.
Kentucky returns to action on March 30, when the Kats travel to Athens, Ga., to compete in theLiz Murphy Collegiate at the Georgia Golf Course.
