The University of Kentucky women’s golf team will open its spring schedule at the Lady Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla., thisweekend, Feb. 23-25.

The Lady Kats have been off since wrapping up their fall schedule with a third-place finish at the Pine Needles Invitational, Nov.6-8, in Southern Pines, N.C. Junior Towa Okiyama led the way for the Lady Kats scoring a 224 in the event, which was good enoughfor an 11th-place finish. Sophomore Rachel Lester held the lead entering the last day of competition, but finished 18th with a 226 after atough final round.

The tournament, which will be played at the University of Florida Golf Course, is set to tee off at 8 a.m., on Friday morning.
