(Feb. 13, 2001) — The University of Kentucky men’s tennis team will open its home dual-match schedule on Wednesday, February 14, at 5 p.m. when it plays host to the Ohio State Buckeyes at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex.
The Wildcats (5-2, 0-0 Southeastern Conference) are coming off of a challenging weekend on the road where they were defeated by No. 8 Illinois on Friday in Champaign, Ill., and then suffered an upset at Harvard on Sunday. The Cats notched their fifth victory of the season on Sunday night against Boston College as they shut out the Eagles, 7-0.
“We’re really excited to finally get back home and play for our fans,” Coach Dennis Emery said. “The support of a home crowd can be an incredible boost, and we look to use that against Ohio State on Wednesday.”
The Cats will continue their home stand through the weekend as they face Notre Dame on Saturday, Feb. 17, at 3 p.m. and open SEC play on Sunday, Feb. 18, at 2 p.m. against the Alabama Crimson Tide.
