The University of Kentucky men’s golf team finished in 15th place at the2001 Sun Trust Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla., after carding a 879 inthree rounds at the tournament.

The hosting Florida Gators came away with a victory over stiff competitionwith their 30-under par performance.

Wildcat senior Wes Furnish did provide a bright spot for the squad withhis 2-under par 68 in the tournament’s final round. The performancemarks a collegiate-low for the Cynthiana, Ky., native and was goodenough to land him in 38th-place.

The Wildcats will take some time off before heading back to Florida onMar. 4-6, for the Florida Southern Invitational.
