(Jan. 31, 2001) — Annie Gage, a University of Kentucky women’s soccer player, was inducted into the Frank G. Ham Society of Character for the fall of 2000. A ceremony recognizing the student-athlete inductees was held at halftime of the Kentucky-Vanderbilt men’s basketball game on Friday, January 27.
The award recognizes student-athletes who give their best to everything they do and those honored are chosen on the basis of five criteria. These criteria are: commitment to academic excellence, commitment to athletic participation, commitment to personal development, commitment to being a role-model, and commitment to preparing for the world of work. Coaches, counselors, trainers or managers can nominate those they feel would deserve recognition.
Deanna Stayton, a former UK soccer player, was inducted in the spring of 2000.
