Track Cats Finish Day One of Air Force Invite

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Sophomore Simidele Adeagbo led the University of Kentucky track team at the Air ForceInvitational as she won her fourth consecutive triple jump with a personal-best 41-09.75 on Friday, Jan. 26. The mark is her thirdstraight NCAA provisional qualifying mark.

Also in the women’s triple jump were freshman Ronda White and senior Shevan Threats who finished in third and fourth places.White jumped 39-08.75, while Threats notched a season-high 39-03.75.

In the women’s pentathlon, junior Temitayo Adeagbo claimed third place with 3522 points. Adeagbo finished her firstmulti-event performance with a personal best in the shot put (37-04.00) and the long jump (17-10.75). Freshman Kristen Mowreytook fourth place with 3450 points in just her first multi-event performance as a collegian.

The only male UK competitor on the evening was junior Bill Powers. Powers finished fifth in the 35-pound weight throw with atoss of 57-01.00.

The Cats finish competition at Air Force on Saturday, Jan. 27, as freshman Jeff Chakouian looks to improve on hisnational-leading shot put mark of 65-10.50 and a number of other Cats take the field.

Track Cats Wrap Up Day One of Razorback Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Freshman Amy Guard gave the University of Kentucky track team its top finish as it completed threeevents on the first day of the Razorback Invitational at the Randal Tyson Track Complex on the campus of the University ofArkansas on Friday, Jan. 26.

Guard finished her first mile as a collegian with a fourth-place finish in the women’s unseeded mile with a time of 5:06.78.Sophomore Marie Patton finished just behind in fifth place, crossing the finish line in a season-best time of 5:14.72.

On the men’s side, the sophomore quartet of Jack and Thomas Morgan, Chad Johnson and Hunter Spencer claimed fifth placein the distance-medley relay in a time of 9:55.47.

The Cats return to action on Saturday, Jan. 27, with competition in the 800 meters, 3,000 meters, women’s seeded mile, andthe men’s 1,600-meter relay.
