(Dec. 8, 2000) — Tickets for the 18th annual University of Kentucky Excite Nite gymnastics extravaganza will go on sale on Monday, December 11, at the UK ticket office in Memorial Coliseum. Reserved seats can be purchased for $5 and general admission for $3 by calling (859) 257-1818 or (800) 928-CATS. Ticket office hours are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

“Jungle Gym,” the theme for this years event, will be held on Friday, Jan. 5, 2001, and will feature the GymKats, the national champion UK Cheerleaders, the UK Pom Squad, the Wildcat mascot and Scratch, and “Priscilla” the Clown. The master of ceremonies again will be WKYT-TVs Dick Gabriel.

Excite Nite took a new turn last season when, in addition to featuring games, prizes, and exhibitions, it showcased the GymKats in a Blue/White scrimmage, and with its overwhelming success, the team will again match up against one another.

In association with this years theme, a contest will be held with prizes going to the best-dressed fan in jungle or safari attire.
