The University of Kentucky women’s swim team signed four freshman for the 2001-02 season, according to UK swimming coach Gary Conelly. Marci Vrooman, Chrissy Miller, Cami Miller, and Jessica Siegele will join diving recruits Trisha Tumlinson and Alison Riccobono in the 2001 recruiting class.

Vrooman is a sprint freestyler from Prospect, Ky., who will help bolster the Cats with a strong 100 freestyle. Chrissy Miller of Ringoes, N.J., is a freestyler who can perform at both the sprint and middle distance. Cami Miller, a Mission Hills, Kan., native, swims middle distance, distance, and the individual medleys. Her times in these events rival some of the current Cats and she will provide needed depth for the squad. Jessica Siegele is a sprinter from Wexford, Penn., and is the sister of current Kentucky swimmer Jaime Siegele. Jessica Siegele swims the 50 freestyle, sprint backstroke and sprint butterfly.

Tumlinson is a product of the Woodlands High School and resides in Spring, Texas. Her club, the Woodlands Diving Club, produced Olympic gold medallist Laura Wilkinson. At the Junior National Championships last summer, Tumlinson finished seventh on the three-meter and fourth on the 10-meter, which qualified her for the Junior World Championships.

Riccobono is a two-time state champion in Ypsilanti, Mich., who enjoys diving and is very strong. “Alison will be a great addition to our team and will be a very successful college diver,” UK diving coach Mike Lyden said.
