Rifle Senior Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll

(Nov. 9, 2000) — The University of Kentucky rifle team will play host to the Air Force Academy and Nebraska on Friday, November 10, at the Buell Armory on UK’s campus. The tri-match will begin at 8 a.m. and continue throughout the day.

The Cats are coming off of a big win over intrastate rival Murray State last weekend. The Kentucky squad barely edged out the Racers, 6164-6161. UK was defeated in smallbore by a nine point margin, but the young squad rebounded in air rifle, posting a 1547 to MSU’s 1535. Senior Taryn Lewis posted a personal best 388 in the event.

“We’re looking forward to having a great day tomorrow,” Coach Harry Mullins said. “We’re really beginning to hit on all cylinders and look forward to showing that tomorrow.”

The Cats wrap up their home fall schedule on Nov. 18, when they take on Alaska-Fairbanks.
