(Nov. 9, 2000) — University of Kentucky rifle senior Taryn Lewis was named to the Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll, the league announced on November 9.

Lewis, the lone senior on the 2000-01 squad, boasts an impressive 3.90 GPA in finance. Lewis has also been getting it done on the range this season, posting a personal best 388 in air rifle last weekend against Murray State.

“It is an incredible honor for Taryn to be honored like this,” Coach Harry Mullins said. “She works incredibly hard in the classroom and on the range, and it’s great to see her earning recognition for that.”

The rifle team, which competes in the Mid-American Rifle Conference, is considered a non-championship sponsored sport by the SEC. In addition to Lewis, 12 members of the UK soccer team were named to the list.
