Women's Soccer

The University of Kentucky women’s soccer team defeated the Butler Bulldogs, 1-0, Friday, Oct. 27, at the Varsity Field at Kuntz Stadium. This was the Wildcat’s first win over the Bulldogs and the series stands at 3-1.

Kentucky (14-4, 6-3 SEC) went up late in the second half after a scoreless first half. Jen Reese found a shot in the 65th minute from passes by Erin Witchey and Keri Boyce. Reese shot from 12 yards out, nailing the ball into the left corner of the goal.

Butler (6-9-2) was unable to answer though they took 10 shots. Kentucky tried for the goal 15 times in the game. UK goalkeeper Beth Wells posted three saves on the night The Wildcats will face Indiana in their last regular season match on Sunday, Oct. 29 at 2 p.m. ET at the Bill Armstrong Stadium in Bloomington, Ind.
