Men's Soccer

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The University of Kentucky men’s soccer team finishes play in the Ohio State Nike Classic, as well asthe regular season, when it matches up against 13th-ranked Penn State on Sunday, Oct. 29. Action gets underway at theJesse Owens Memorial Stadium at noon EST.

The Cats (8-8-0) were defeated by Ohio State in their first game of the tournament and look to regroup in thefinale. They were led by sophomores Chris McDaniel, Brian Mitts and J.D. Stephenson with three shots each.

The Nittany Lions (11-4-1) come into the game with a 1-0 victory over Cincinnati in first-round action on Friday. PSUjunior Derek Potteiger leads the team with 23 points and 10 goals. Freshmen John Fischer scored the game-winner againstCincinnati.

This will be the first meeting between the two schools. They have played three common opponents this season: Indiana, Ohio State and Akron. Penn State fell to both Akron and Indiana while tying the Buckeyes. The Cats droppedmatches to all three teams.
