Wildcats Continue Among SEC Defensive Leaders: Linebacker Marlon McCree,defensive tackle Dewayne Robertson, and defensive end Matt Layow are among theSoutheastern Conference defensive leaders released by the league office on Tuesday.
McCree leads the SEC in tackles for loss with 14. Robertson is second with 12.5 tacklesfor loss. Layow is tied for third with 11.5 TFL, along with Anthony Sessions of Tennessee.
McCree is third in the league in quarterback sacks with 5.5. Jarret Johnson of Alabamaand John Henderson lead the SEC with six sacks each. Tied for third with McCree, at 5.5sacks each, are Derrick Burgess of Mississippi and Matt Stewart of Vanderbilt.
Wildcat Defense on Record Pace for Total Tackles for Loss: The Kentuckydefense is on a record pace to break the school record for total tackles for loss.
The Wildcats have 68 tackles for loss in eight games this season, an average of 8.5 pergame. If they continue at the same pace, they will break the mark of 88 total TFL (an averageof 8.0 per game) set in 1998.
Practice Schedule for Oct. 24-29: The Kentucky football team will practice Tuesday,Wednesday, and Thursday this week at 2 p.m. at the Nutter Training Center. The team will notpractice on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
