UK football fans of all ages swarmed into the Nutter Fieldhouse Sunday afternoon to grab free posters and snap photos of their favorite Wildcats. Players autographed everything from footballs and t-shirts to media guides.”I love UK football, it’s the best in the country,” said Mike Giles of Lawrenceburg, adding that he “loves the program and is hanging with the Cats all the way.”

“Fans’ Day gives us a chance to show how much we appreciate the fans who’ve supported us through the good times and the bad times,” senior cornerback Eric Kelly said.

Six year-old Jordan Taylor Kendrick and his father Tracy Kendrick of Georgetown were taking in their first Fans’ Day celebration. Jordan’s favorite player is senior linebacker Marlon McCree. Tracy Kendrick said, “If Marlon believes (in a nine-win season), then we believe.”

“It’s an exciting time because the players and fans get to intermingle,” defensive coordinator Mike Major added. “The fans get to put a face with a number. To see this many people turn out makes you feel good about being a Kentucky Wildcat.”
